India is taking a significant step towards becoming a healthy nation.

GOI is releasing nutrient guidelines under their "Healthy India by 2047" initiative.
I have summarised a few points that I believe will have a domino effect in the long term:

👉 1. Minimum Nutrient Requirements:
For the first time, GOI will provide minimum requirements for protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins across different life stages, from infants to the elderly.

This is long overdue, simply because there is not much quality research done on INDIAN nutrition and this will at least start the conversation.

👉 2. Simplifying Technical Information:
The guidelines will simplify technical information about food labelling and other aspects to make them more accessible to the public.

How many of us really read the labels? Compared to countries like Japan, Korea and the US, we are woefully lacking in this regard. So this is appreciated.

👉 3. Promoting Healthy Eating:
The government plans to discourage the marketing and advertising of unhealthy foods and promote the consumption of healthy foods.

Japan is the benchmark here.

These developments are a massive win for precision nutrition. Advanced kitchen tech, like automation, is poised to help deliver meals meeting exact protein, carb & vitamin needs for all ages.
